Job Title: Community-Based Counseling Internship
About us: Anderson Counseling Services is seeking dedicated and passionate interns to join our community-based counseling team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in providing mental health support within various community settings. Interns will work under the supervision of licensed counselors, fostering both personal and professional growth through active participation in client care and community outreach programs.
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one counseling support to clients under supervision, including but not limited to active listening, empathetic communication, and coping strategies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with confidentiality policies and ethical guidelines.
Engage in regular supervision meetings and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement community programs aimed at promoting mental well-being.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a graduate program in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and engage respectfully with diverse populations.
Basic understanding of therapeutic techniques and principles.
Must possess a genuine interest in mental health and supporting community well-being.

Job Title: Marketing Intern

Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email, and website content.
Conduct market research to identify trends and insights relevant to our target audience.
Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms and the company blog.
Support the team in organizing marketing events and outreach efforts.
Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Collaborate with team members on creative projects, ensuring brand consistency and messaging integrity.
Help maintain the marketing calendar and track project deadlines.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Resident in Counseling to join our clinical team at Anderson Counseling Services. Under clinical supervision, the Resident will provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups in a community-based mental health setting. This role is ideal for clinicians who are working toward LPC licensure in Virginia and are passionate about serving diverse and underserved populations.
Responsibilities:
Conduct intake assessments and contribute to diagnostic impressions under supervision
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals
Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling using evidence-based therapeutic modalities
Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with Medicaid, DBHDS, and agency standards
Participate in case consultations, supervision, and team meetings
Coordinate care with internal and external providers as needed
Manage clinical risk, including completing safety plans and crisis de-escalation under guidance
Adhere to ethical standards and all applicable laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality and care
Qualifications:
Required:
Master’s degree in Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program (or equivalent)
Current Resident in Counseling registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling
Ability to receive weekly supervision from a qualified LPC supervisor (can be provided by agency)
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Passion for working in community mental health and serving diverse populations
Preferred:
Experience working with populations such as children, adolescents, families, or individuals with serious mental illness
Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Credible, CareLogic)
Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish or ASL)
Familiarity with trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, or Motivational Interviewing

The Licensed Counselor will provide individual, group, and family therapy services to clients across the lifespan at a community-based mental health center. This role involves conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and wellness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations in accordance with DSM-5 and agency guidelines.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals based on client needs and strengths.
Provide outpatient counseling services (individual, group, and family) using evidence-based practices.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with Medicaid, commercial insurance, state, and agency standards.
Coordinate care with psychiatrists, case managers, primary care providers, schools, and other community partners.
Respond to mental health crises as needed and provide risk assessments and safety planning.
Participate in weekly supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.
Maintain licensure and stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active licensure in the state of Virginia as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
